Support Worker (Adults with Learning Disabilities)

Hourly starting rate range of between £11.84 and £12.44 (approximately £28,137.20 to £29,385.20) - this example is based on a 40-hours-per-week contract and one sleep-in per week.

After a year's service, employees/partners share in the profits of the company with the annual EOT bonus. After 5 years' service this bonus could be in excess of £2,000 and, as we are a Trust, this is paid tax free.

Benefits:

  • Sleep-in rate currently £67.50 - approximately one sleep-in per week for full time staff. It is your choice if you want to do sleep-ins, they are not compulsory
  • Waking Nights shifts may be available, and are paid at an hourly rate of £15.50
  • Full shift usually at one location however we do require flexibility as you may be required to travel between our locations from time to time
  • You do not need your own transport or to be able to drive
  • 20-40 hours per week plus overtime
  • Comprehensive training including Care Certificate and funded training for Level 2 and Level 3 in Health & Social Care

Role Description:

Based in Buxton and surrounding areas, you will:

  • Assist our service users with a range of activities including personal care, housework, shopping, visiting family and friends and many other activities
  • Enable our service users to have independent and fulfilled lives through community-based activities such as cinema trips, bowling, gardening and farm projects
  • Accompany our service users occasionally on holidays in England and abroad
  • Be prepared to take a flexible approach to shift working as there are a variety of day and evening shifts and this requires alternate weekend working

Relevant qualifications are an advantage, but we also have a comprehensive training programme for those new to care. As we have fleet cars, drivers are extremely welcome to apply.
